"Don't Let the Corner Take You Under"

On my block, life stops, when death knocks,
and in the unexpected, I feel connected...
We're so separated and neglected, it takes tragedy to reflect it.
Flip the coin of life and death, One side emotion the other intellect,
Your either smart and progress,or get lost in the cycle of da domino affect.
I see drugs and pills, and hope da greens killed,
It's a battle field, where Gods the shield,
Moms relapsin cuz they cant take the pressure.
She out to the corner high and hell weather,
Around our way we called heroin, sweet dreams and ready
and in Baltimore the flow is deadly, but ignorance is steady,
even I've been a victim,to venom of the street life,
intoxicated off anything wit a price,
weed or liquor, gettin thicker and thicker,
lost in the jungle of money and struggle,
in my world of trouble, Needed love even when It was fake,
I took lust to da heart, and refused to wait, now that caused pain and heartache,
seeking approval is cruel, and you get played the fool,
I was, one woman so lost,Even I cant believe the mountains I crossed.
If you are where I was at, right now, Sista you can change, just believe in da how.

Don't let the corner take you under,
Don't let the corner take you under,
Don't let the corner take you under,
Don't let the corner take you under.
